Perron is the opposite of a proven scorer. He's the model of inconsistency, but I like the game he brings with him away from the puck. I hope his scoring continues, but what history is proven is he's soon to dry up and be spotty from here on out.

You can be a proven scorer and still inconsistent. Both Perron and Smith are 20-goal scorers multiple times over, but they're both also inconsistent.
I do agree that the goals will dry up a bit for Perron and the team in general. I suspect it will be their goaltending and the points they've banked which will carry them (or not) to the playoffs.
